Beirut & Washington - Lebanese leader Walid Jumblatt has warned that Hezbollah's advocated street demonstrations to topple PM Fouad Siniora's government will paralyze the country and cause "chaos."


The Bush administration on Wednesday accused Syria, Iran and the Hezbollah militants they back of trying to oust the Lebanese government. But officials acknowledged the U.S. can do little to prevent outside interference with Beirut's fragile democracy.

THE US today accused Syria, Iran and Hezbollah militants of plotting to topple the Lebanese government and warned them to keep their "hands off".

Hezbollah is threatening street protests to force early elections in Lebanon if its demands are not met for a "national unity" Cabinet that would give the Islamic militants and their allies veto power over key decisions.


UNITED NATIONS, United States (UPI) -- Senior U.N. officials are increasingly concerned about Israeli flights over Lebanon, so much so that one has called the latest a breach of Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended 33 days of fighting in August.
