i always thought objects in motion tend to stay in motion, so why would air traveling at say 30mph "arbitrary number" stop and change direction on a dime???
30mph = 30X5280"feet in a mile"=158400'/per hour...
divided by 60=2640' = 45.45'/per minute ..
so in a 2000' tower it would take appox 46 seconds for the layer of air to fall the height of the tower.
once the first layer of the continuous feed wet air reaches the bottom of the tower you have a 2000' column of damp falling air, which is not going to stop and reverse direction as it drops excess moisture.It will continue as physics suggest in it current motion with the assist of the weight and momentum of the column of air pushing from behind to continue out tube thru the fan blades and back to atmosphere...
