It was my understanding that this merger would be a non taxable event for the shareholders. TD Ameritrade is treating it as a taxable event as I am being clipped for my cap gains on PX, and my cost basis for LIN is what the trading price was on 10/31/18...why is this happening since it was basically a share for share stock swap?
