U.S. Natural Gas ETF +7% on forecasts for colder than normal temps Nov. 5, 2018 8:33 AM ET|By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor The top U.S. natural gas ETF (NYSEARCA:UNG) +7.7% pre-market on forecasts for colder than average temperatures this week.
According to the Weather Channel, a blast of cold temperatures this week will be accompanied by the chance for some accumulating snow in parts of the Plains and Midwest later in the week, and several disturbances are expected to track from the Plains and Midwest into the East.
Another cold front is expected to move through the central and eastern U.S. late this week, reinforcing the cold conditions and bringing the chance for rain and snow.

or jumped 25.8 cents, or around 7.8%, to $3.542 per million British thermal units by 8:45AM ET (1345GMT). It reached its best level since December 30, 2016 at $3.570 earlier.
Weather systems will track across the northern U.S. the next several days with rain and snow, leading to an increase in heating demand.
Natural gas prices typically rise ahead of the winter as colder weather sparks indoor-heating demand.
The heating season from November through March is the peak demand period for U.S. gas consumption.
