Initially, a press release was posted on PR.com, a free-to-post site with minimal, if any, pre-screening of content. This ZonziaCannabis press release was littered with grammatical errors and misspellings, a departure from every piece of content that Zonzia Media, Inc. has released (sadly, there remains no recent content to compare it against). The press release was pulled from PR.com the next day.
Other notables:
1) ZonziaCannabis.com, or similar domain, has not been registered. The free WIX site currently in use smacks of amateurism.
2) There was a store on the WIX site selling infused champagne. The bottle image they used is that of a cardboard cutout for sale on sites like Amazon.com. The champagne, which was listed for $80, is no longer for sale.
3) The ZonziaCannabis twitter account lacks substance, and at cursory glance is loaded with questionable followers (the followers numbers were falling sharply).
4) The ZonziaCannabis logo is a take on a stock logo generator from the Web.
5) If you see news on EIN News, that info covers the content of the initial press release. With that release being pulled from PR.com, any information referencing it should be read with suspicion (in my opinion).
6) Zonzia Media, Inc. has not addressed this hoax, beyond, as one could believe, getting the press release pulled from the site and halting sales of the champagne.
