You are thinking about prohibition backwards.

Prohibition in the United States focused on the manufacture, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages; however, exceptions were made for medicinal and religious uses. Alcohol consumption was never illegal under federal law. Nationwide Prohibition did not begin in the United States until January 1920, when the Eighteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution went into effect. The 18th amendment was ratified in 1919, and was repealed in December 1933 with the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment.[

Yes, people can home brew, but that does not seem to effect the industry much. It is labor intensive and takes patients. You also have to deal with the mess and the smells (not all bad). Mostly it is a hobbyist thing.

Now:
Cannabis prohibition is starting to end. Yes, people can home grow, but most will not. I know I don't have a green thumb so I will not be growing my own.

As far as smugglers and illegal grow operations go, they will fade away the same as the bootleggers and moonshiners have. Also, since they are taking money away from the states from taxes, the states are going to crack down harder on stopping them. Before it was legal the states were not loosing money since there was no taxes on it.

Then once you look at healthiness of both, cannabis will be huge in the long run and EVIO will be there to help test it all. $$$$

So sit back, relax, and wait for it.
