IF THEY ARE ASSIGNING JUDGES IN CALI FOR APPLE CASE, DOESN'T THAT MEAN THE STAY IS LIFTED?

-----

I cannot speak to whether the stay has definitely been lifted in the original VPLM lawsuit brought against Apple but I can point out that many times a judge can use his/her own discretion and choose to lift a stay informally without disclosing this on the record officially as long as both parties agree to this.

Maybe both sides and the judge are waiting on the PTAB to make a decision before formally disclosing the lifting of the stay?

A good indicator to pay attention to when it comes to the lifting of the stay is whether the court docket on Pacermonitor reflects that the litigation process is moving forward (e.g. scheduling of conferences, pre-discovery motions, etc.).

Hope that helps.
