NetMan, an oil industry up-and comer (PED) did exactly that some months back and literally wiped almost 100% of all past outstanding debt and never hurt a Shareholder either. They made better Board changes, then re-invested that profit $$$ into new Permian Basin Assets to drill 4 additional wells and stock rose like 400% initially there.. Same could happen here too... ???
