To illustrate how phony Mal's latest funding announcement is, if by some miracle the $13.5 million were forthcoming, an exploration licence granted and Bellevue were drilled but proved a dud (as in all probability it would be) there is no way that Thunderbolt would then be drilled. The great petroleum generation theory would be dead and Thunderbolt would be consigned to the geological dustbin. The Thunderbolt structure is so ill defined anyway as not to be sensibly drillable. So the position would be that (say) $6 million was used to drill Bellevue, presumably leaving Mal with a nice $7.5 million slush fund to apply to any old nonsense he came up with.
It's a load of bunk.
But you do have to admire Mal's rat cunning. If he had said the funding deal was for $10 0r $12 million people would have said it looks like such round figures have been invented, but with $13.5 million it is made to appear that there has been some serious costing gone on.
