I do not believe that there is even a 5% probability that a share bought on the OTC as from today will be entitled to the TRW dividend.

Better than 90% smile

The only argument against it is, that maybe, maybe with a lot of imagination, exchange rules don't apply. But... Oslo already gave you the ex-date which certainly means they are applying exchange rules. Although, be it slightly different from FINRA.

You want to know what happened to me 2 years ago? Similar situation.

http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/fab-universal-to-spin-off-liberated-syndication-to-shareholders-2144119.htm

The announcement came on Jul 20. The Record date was also Jul 20. I didn't even know about the 25% rule or deferred ex-dates. Less the value of the spin-off. And the press release strongly suggested that everyone qualified on Jul 20. There was no time.... In fact, the stock dropped 50% one day later, and kept dropping afterwards.

Jul 31 came the ex-date announcement from FINRA, 11 days later. Long after I sold my shares. Because I was only interested in the dividend shares. I remember Traderfan mentioned it. But I wasn't even paying attention. The stock had dropped 80% by then and I was convinced I had already qualified. I was just waiting for the shares in my account. Waiting, and waiting, but they never came. Because the pay-date was Aug 1 and the ex-date... Aug2! And that's what my broker used. Total shocker. In this case the market already confirmed what I thought I knew. But we were all wrong.

I even contacted the company on Jul 20, and told them, what the heck? Shouldn't the Record Date be announced in advance? To which they never replied.
