the reason the corp is volatile and choppy is that they mine out all the good ore and then buy and develop what they think are winners--meanwhile there is considerable lag.

eg in the Yukon, brazil europe montenegro africa, and mills sometimes many miles away---1,5 grams to 5 grams per tone means a lot of tonnage milling--driving down profits----its an old vancouver gang with old methods
