Looks like I called it. DJ Six Flags CEO: Weather Was Biggest Headwind in 3Q -- Market Talk Dow Jones News11:28 AM Eastern Daylight Time Oct 24, 2018 11:28 ET - Six Flags CEO Jim Reid-Anderson says unfavorable weather conditions were a drag on attendance growth in 3Q, brushing off concerns that the company was losing resonance with park customers. In a conference call with analysts, he says more frequent rains in the East and excessive heat, and some flooding, in other parts of the US, hurt attendance. Reid-Anderson batted away questions about organic growth, a metric important to analysts, saying Six Flags doesn't break down park attendance details "for competitive reasons." Instead he points to guests with memberships or season passes rising 9% YOY. Shares fall 11% after a miss on earnings and revenue. Rivals are also trading lower with SeaWorld down 4.1% and Cedar Fair off 1.3%. (kimberly.chin@wsj.com) (END) Dow Jones Newswires
