I believe The Apostle is correct here folks. Also, another poster just added some very good additional info regarding the particular symbol choice and how it happens to insure that their stock symbol does NOT coincide with a large foreign banking/finance group.

1) I believe FINRA gives a company 3 possible choices (after the company first submits their choice or choices) - and then the company must choose.

2) Thus, GIFA Inc chose GIFX as their symbol, as The Apostle stated.

3) It's not always ideal that a company name and a company's stock symbol be one in the same. It can sometimes create confusion, for instance, if they expand and open subsidiaries in the future, or who knows what- they may want just a little difference between the main corp name and their trading symbol.

4) MOST IMPORTANTLY IMO, as was just pointed out by another poster, GIFA also happens to be a VERY WELL KNOW "Finance Organization" in the Islamic world. Sorta a banking group or consortium that hosts global conferences and talks and think tank stuff, gives out annual awards, etc. THAT may be thee single greatest reason why GIFA Inc chose GIFX is so that Google searches and similar don't keep landing on the Islamic Finance institute page or pages.

I think they, GIFA Inc probably wanted ZERO CONFUSION of their stock symbol with that well established and long standing industry group- who happens to use "GIFA" prominently as their acronym.

Thus, I wouldn't over-read into this symbol thing too much. Main thing, they GIFA Inc, they now have a REAL NICE STOCK SYMBOL THAT "GELS" with their corp name and JETTISONS FRFS and "Firefish" FOREVER, but is unique enough to be very distinctive to them, and them alone for hopefully the very long term.

That's my 20 or so CENTS on that - where I hope we open tomorrow AM :)
