elephant in the room - 25% sudden drop ought to have triggered massive stops and ..... massive buy orders ... rightfully assuming from the same entities. It's Clean , plain, even orderly mathematics, very clear, but very emotional at the time for regular (small) people

To compare just imagine if SPY would drop all of a sudden 25% ... SEVENTY DOLLARS to just above 200 (also nice round psycho number), how many will buy all the way down? How many? You'd run out of money and margin. I mean that's 70 fkin dollars sell sell SEEELLLLL.
Who? WHO will actually be good enough to first hold off, watch calmly the show, then buy the bottom of that ??
I only think I'm good but I seriously doubt I am that good, seriously. I even imagine NEt going out with impudence and getting creamed. Even big brokers with genius traders would step back (after heavy losses still).

I also imagine that the market will be shut down so me and you and him and her, THE PEOPLE, will effectively be shut out of a buying opp, maybe even your own broker under one BS excuse or another will close you out. Heck every time (NO FAIL !!! which make me think they get paid to do it) there was some unexpected large volatility, even chart services like StockCharts is out, so for you the PAYING CUSTOMER, to blind you of your PAID navigation tool.
(this is one of the reasons I take and keep periodic screenshots of the charts to go to them for reference if the unscrupulous bad people, portraying themselves as decent business people shut me out of my rightful tools)

I also believe that any and all such events must be heralded one way or another in charts. Even from far away large chart with zero moving averages or indicators on it (in prior post), it still becomes evident to an observant eye. I would've not guessed the magnitude of drop, but I would've probably stay out of holding longs just prior to the cascade.

BTW, ... SPY 200 ... it's sssoooooo happens to be just above BREXIT bullsht market spasms of 2015, a so very technical buying pivot.
So if anything one could definitely place a waiting order right there above that cloud of PPT bullsht.
OR for that same matter (if you believe this can happen) place a LOTTO leap of puts with that strike, it must be dirty cheap 70 fkn bucks OTM , even for a leap
