Why dont they add this pic to their website like "we at dentist X pride ourselves in perfect smiles. Why dont you nock out all your teeth right now for no reason besides they dont look pretty enough"

Again. Only warranty on their work is until they get their truck out of your driveway. Aboslutely no evidence for bone integration here.

What causes bone loss in the jaw?

For example, smoking can affect the density of bone in all areas of the body, including the jaw

Sounds like blood flow issues.

When a tooth is extracted or lost due to trauma, there are no longer roots to stimulate the alveolar bone.

Again this sounds like blood flow loss into the roots.

Periodontal Disease, Osteomyelitis

Ok this one sounds like infection related bone loss. Once the infection kills the bone the body absorbs it as a foreign body.

Osteomyelitis Can Develop if an Infection Was Not Diagnosed and Treated ... infections in other parts of the body, ... to one arm or leg being shorter than the opposite or unaffected side.

Used to be a thing in chronic osteomyelitis, decades back as well as bone looking like swiss cheese from holes as the osteomyelitis destroyed the bone. I think the standard treatment is antibiotics to kill the infection, which seems to work out for now. I say now becuase MRSA. these bacteria can evolve to become antibiotic resistant. This happens in osteomyelitis and Im not sure the docs will be smart enough to get them in for Hyperbaric oxygen treatment (an FDA approved treatment for osteomyelitis) fast enough before it causes irreversible damage. I`d like to see the bacteria develop a resistance to oxygen(doubt it).

So how does this relate to Amedica? Rahaman. Sandia kicked him down a robocaster. He studies silicon nitride. He's study buddies with Sonny on bioglass. That's a clear enough relation to me. Not sure the composition of their 45S5 bioglass replacement. But if I had to guess, it's increased strength is from Borosilicate rather than Soda lime glasses. The relationship is doping this with copper to increase angiogenesis. What is this mechanism? Perhaps it's not enough to stop bacterial degredation of the bone with antibacterial properties, but increase blood flow to the site to deliver oxygen and nutrients(especially important in this dental example of jaw bone loss). How does copper do this? does it stimulate inflammation to stimulate angiogenesis? Are we mistaking antibacterial properties for increased angiogenesis?(correlation vs causation) or something else?
