Emerson, Lake & Palmer / Lucky Man / 1974 California Jam LIVE

I have not heard this in a long time - Sort of my mood for a day - I had tickets to ELP in 1979 but they cancelled ... Bummer ...

A Great Version - Keith Emerson Band - Lucky Man

One Comment from Mike Wright ...

RIP Keith - Thank you for the progressive, rock, jazz AND classical influences your profound life gave us all. I first went to see you in ELP at the Eastown Theater in Detroit in the early 70's. It was your US debut, I think. I had only heard of you from your work in The Nice, I knew of Carl Palmer from The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Atomic Rooster, (RIP Vincent Crane), and of course Greg Lake from King Crimson. Yes opened up for you. I literally didn't know what to expect but with a line up like that, I had to be there. Your first song was The Barbarian. When that song ended the crowd was absolutely silent and stunned with mouths wide open. I'll never forget that. After what seemed like an eternity the crowd jumped to their feet and cheered wildly. Then you kept killing us with the likes of Tarkus, Knife Edge, Take a Pebble and Tank to name a few right up to the multiple encores. To this day when I listen to Barbarian I have to crank it up and relive that moment. Keith - you influenced generations and I hope they all respect your final decision to leave us. We will miss you deeply.?
