The reality is that you have no idea why management has not been communicating regularly- and neither do I. But you don't mind communicating your speculation that the reason is that they are "rank amateurs" and have no business running a public company. I believe when you don't know something, it is often best not speculate too much- especially when you yourself are speculating in a public arena- like this message area.

Looking at management's background- and knowing personally a bit about their history, I believe they are anything but rank amateurs. I agree with a former post that enumerates various possibilities that might have happened- that made them decide to restructure and reformulate some of their efforts while keeping to their basic goals. There could be legal and proprietary reasons they wish to be quiet. There also could be other business considerations that provoked this temporary silence.

In my opinion, this silence is just that- temporary.
