H2- Very routine practice with software security and IT security hardware. The simplest explanation is when it comes to securing our networks most IT officers do not want to publicly advertise what protection they are using. Ever notice the LifeLock co-founder quickly stopped giving out his social security number on TV? In 2007, co-founder of LifeLock Todd Davis publicly posted his Social Security number as part of an ad campaign to promote the company's identity theft protection services. Davis was a victim of 13 cases of identity theft between 2007 and 2008. Davis said, "We were trying to make the point that … all it takes is one data breach. The point of that campaign was to take proactive steps to protect your identity." I think the point he ended up making was if you instigate hackers they'll show you quickly how unsecure your system really is.
