That sounds like punishment in one of the inner circles of hell! LOL! Definitely not something a sane person would do voluntarily.

gaff - A hook; a stick etc. with a hook. Now usu. a barbed fishing spear, a stick with a hook for landing large fish. ME.

gaffe - A blunder, a clumsy or indiscreet act or remark.

As an example: Scott999's use of the word "gaff" above is a gaffe!!
