what are ya'lls thoughts about it growing here vs importing.

Oh, I'm all for it! You know, Kentucky is pushing very hard for this to become the crop that replaces tobacco. You may have seen in your Paducah newspaper the ad that the Kentucky Department of Agriculture put out in all papers across the state, asking (almost begging) farmers to apply to become certified so they can grow hemp crops.

We now have nearly 7,000 acres running under the University of Kentucky's ag program. That's double what they had this time last year. McConnell is all for it too, and hopefully, he will get this 'legal vs. illegal' thing finally squashed in the Farm Bill. Hemp will become the savior of the small farmers here. When tobacco quotas were lowered, that wiped out a lot of family farm income. They have been looking for a replacement crop and now here it is!!!
