Maybe it's not that complicated. Maybe the big boys listened to Paul Krugman's dire predictions on Trump being elected and missed the market run up.

You mean they were non-believers for almost 2 years? Not very savvy.

Not discounting the fact that the market is manipulated. Only takes a few drovers to set the herd stampede toward the exits, whereby, the instigators buy up cheap shares. Some economists theorize that the whole economy is manipulated in cycles, not just the stock market.
