If an owner can’t be found and forced to make fixes, the state has to hire a crew to plug the well. It’s expensive, averaging about $17,000 per well. Complicated plugging jobs can cost more than $100,000.

It seems funding is being pulled for other state projects - which makes you think that the commission shouldn’t bother with the fines or orders for well plugging or grounds clean up as it is a waste of time and funds
