The United States has yet to sign the UNESCO Underwater Cultural Heritage Treaty. Even so, many states align themselves with the policies. As to Florida the writing was on the wall for a long time. With the exception of already grandfathered in 1715 shipwrecks originally granted to Real Eight, Inc. and Treasure Salvors, Inc., no new salvage contracts have been issued to my knowledge. The treatment of Global Marine Exploration by the State of Florida makes it rather clear. The few countries who's waters contain sunken Spanish treasure galleons and have not ratified the treaty; Colombia, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, are not issuing private sector commercial contracts. If you go to search and type in;
"UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage", you can read the terms of the treaty. Specifically, go to Annex Rules 1-8 saying "Key among these are the complete prohibition of commercial exploration of underwater cultural heritage".
Also go to search and type in "Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage. Paris, 2 November 2001". This provides a complete listing of all countries that have ratified the treaty and the year when they did it.
Penny stock treasure hunting companies or any others soliciting for investment money rarely if ever provide investors with this information. So all the nonsense so often given saying we're going here, we're going there to salvage sunken treasure represents an extremely limited playing field. So when you cant find treasure like this outfit hasn't been able to in a decade, tell all your working on some super duper gold finding machine (or whatever its suppose to find). Interesting question is the people or person who's supposedly developing it seem to be lacking in marine science/electronics background. Even if the Tinker-bell magic wand is invented, where are they going to use it? Lobster fisherman, more than not, make money.
