Yes, this deal ( UWNK ) was very unique , as Keating work more or less with/for somehow "ordinary" China companies ( like SARL,PUDC - autoparts, coal ... ) so your observations and conclusions have firm ground.

To make things shorter - more than less I believe that T. Baulch is just a "stray man" backed by MONEY MAKING MACHINES ...

And knowing the basic philosophy behind HEDGIES is not hard to find out what's all about - those GUYS smell REAL deal and flow of REAL money to be loaded into their pockets ...

PS: By the way - Gottlieb Jay is the REAL person and he was public registrant in 1999 when signed and supervised a contract for ENRON ....
