I'm certainly no expert, but this sounds big, but also sounds like it's got a lot of work needed before it can possibly gain FDA approval. With some of the new direction the FDA's taking toward streamlining approval it might not take as much time as traditional Phase 1, 2, and 3 Trials would, but it will still be a number of years, and cost a lot of money, before it can be approved as a drug. I would suspect that at first it would be available by prescription only, but if it's as good as it sounds, it shouldn't be long before it's available OTC.

I don't believe the company has thoughts of not doing full FDA trials and instead do limited testing and attempt to sell it in cannabis stores. Some companies might try this approach, but I'm uncertain if it's even possible when you combine an available drug with CBD.
