If the company gets a 2 billion dollar settlement....the cash on hand worth of the company divided by the total shares of the company would give you an idea what value to put on a share...minus figuring multiples


You realize if you own shares in a company you have ownership of the company.

It has everything to do with figuring how much a company is worth. Which should be indicated in the share price. If someone owned over half the shares they would be a majority shareholder/owner of the company. but the public float is less than total number of shares, so that cant happen.
