RLTY.U is listed as a Canadian company, but the .U indicates it trades in US$.

I assume putting that ticker/symbol into your US brokerage should work, or you should get the US equivalent.

I have bought other Canadian companies on my US$ account and was set up with the US equivalent of the Canadian symbol, which only gave me daily closes on SP and not real time quotes.

I have a US$ and a CAD$ account with my brokerage and I use the appropriate accounts to save on exchange conversions.
Maybe see if you have the same capability as that may help you in that respect, and the ability to avoid such complications of having alternate tickers that don't show real time quotes of exchange values.

Give your broker a call and see if you can set up a Canadian $ account as there are the aforementioned issues that plague cross border trading. The exchange conversion is the worst IMO, and sometimes it's better to hold the settled cash in Canadian when selling shares till conversion rates are suitable/favorable to you.
