Most scientists and doctors do not make good business leaders. I deal with them all the time. They are super smart and generally great in their specialty but that doesn't translate into a good manager. And, if you have a scientist for a lead of this type of company, I doubt they are going to be focused on pushing weed into the recreational market. Its not their type of thing. Have a little patience, they are moving in more of a balanced approach than you are giving them credit for and have been fairly transparent about it.
