Can somebody help me understand what a cheap revenue officer does?

Wouldn’t be better served by having some sales people that can sell some product? If you don’t sell anything, you don’t have any revenue.

I remain very confused at how this company is operating. As far as I can tell, all we added is an additional mouth to feed and a future severance package.
