Mynaric shipped laser components last December to Airborne Wireless. Shortly thereafter.. in the same proximity to ABWN... Mynaric claims to have tested with Facebook airborne to ground FSO links and data transfer rates with many interruptions to test re-concectivity. Exactly what Mynaric/Airborne Wireless Network stated about the intent of the laser terminal shipment.
Mynaric recently announced serial production of the ground terminals which they would have multiple ready at EOY. Could this be the hold up? I mean if I am going thru to trouble of putting 2 planes in the air with expensive laser systems I want to be damn sure I can get the data to multiple ground stations so the network can be live and usable. 2 planes and 1 ground station doesn’t prove as much as 2 planes and 3 ground stations? Thoughts?
