CBD IS CURRENTLY SCHEDULE I AND FEDERALLY ILLEGAL BUT THAT IS ABOUT TO CHANGE WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS
The DEA specifically put “all cannabinoid extracts” on Schedule I in December 2016
Before then, MJ and Hemp were on Schedule I, but there was no mention of specific cannabinoids like CBD
Everybody knew that the reason why MJ was considered a Schedule I medication was due specifically to the psychoactive and addictive effect of THC
Nobody thought the reason why cannabis was on Schedule I was due to CBD
So before December 2016, CBD was completely unscheduled — which is a very important fact
Schedule I doesn’t simply mean “has no medical value and a high risk of abuse and dependence”, also known as “addictive”
Schedule I also means FEDERALLY ILLEGAL
So because CBD is a cannabinoid extract, it has gotten lumped in with all other cannabinoids like THC
and classified by the DEA as federally illegal, addictive and without medical value
The ONLY reason why the DEA is going to be rescheduling CBD is because they are LEGALLY forced to do so
The federal law says that if the FDA approves a medication which is currently a Schedule I Substance, then the DEA has 90 days to Legalize/Reschedule it
On 6/25/18, the FDA approved a Schedule I Drug — Epidiolex — which is CBD extracted from MJ — for the very specific medical use of treating 2 fairly rare congenital seizure disorders — Dravet Syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome
So the 90 day timetable to Reschedule CBD started on 6/25
The DEA would rather not reschedule anything that is remotely related to MJ, even if it is a cannabinoid (isolate) like CBD that everybody possessing actual scientific knowledge states is not addictive and has medical value — and that’s not because they are bad people who hate MJ, but rather because their financial livelihood depends on MJ, and anything remotely related to it, remaining federally illegal
Legalizing and rescheduling CBD is one step closer to legalizing MJ
So the DEA did not decide to legalize and reschedule CBD on their own
THEY ARE BEING FORCED TO DO SO BY LAW

Sales of CBD extracted from Hemp, also known as Hemp-derived CBD and Hemp-CBD have been literally exploding in 2018, particularly over the past 3-6 months
This is happening while CBD is a Schedule I Drug —federally illegal, just like Heroin and other Schedule I drugs
So the DEA has allowed the Hemp-derived CBD economy to flourish even though CBD is technically classified as a Schedule I Drug
This is why CVSI has gone parabolic during the summer of 2018 and why CWEB (Charlotte’s Web) went public a few weeks ago — those are two of the biggest companies in the Hemp-derived CBD Oil space in America
So if the DEA hasn’t cracked down on CBD oil in any really meaningful way while it has been classified as a federally illegal (and presumably harmful due to its addictive value) Schedule I Drug, then why would they do so after CBD has been officially declared a Schedule III/IV medicine with therapeutic effect?
If the Hemp-derived CBD Oil economy can grow this fast when CBD is classified as a federally illegal Schedule I Drug that is addictive and has no medical value, then how much faster can it grow when it is classified as a legal drug with medical efficacy?
The stock market has already answered these questions
The stock market believes that the economic benefits to Hemp-derived CBD Oil stocks, of legalizing CBD by rescheduling it, will be incredible
The stock market believes that any potential risks of legalizing and rescheduling CBD are overblown and vastly outweighed by the massive economic benefits
And I agree 100% with that
Now there are always multiple sides to any argument, and all sides of the rescheduling argument have been making their case in the media for the past 3 months
So there is plenty of reading material out there
