Hey Gmenfan-

A new bridge being built on rt549 has been undermined and the road closed since the rain. To get from here to Elmira you have go over a mountain no matter which way you go. I understand it's just awaiting an OK from the county bridge inspector to reopen. It's a well used roadway and had priority. Went over a mountain tonite earlier and there were still a few spots where water was flowing over the roadway. Heard FEMA was in the area starting today. About 5 years ago I broke through the foundation in the basement and put a stainless pipe holding about 15 ft of pvc going out and directing water to the street and down the hill. Hadn't needed it until this year, have pumped the cellar out 5 times already. Nothing serious but a few thousand gallons here and there adds up, LOL.
