I am beginning to agree with the sentiment that the silence surrounding AXAL and the decision not to have a CC both point to an imminent deal in the works. Consider KB's personality for a moment. He came on board and within weeks publicly and loudly proclaimed that AXAL would be shelved if they could not find a buyer for it. He doesn't seem to be the type of CEO who would quietly file away the company's lead candidate. In addition to that, the decision to do so would probably be a material event that they would have to announce within a specific time frame, as some have pointed out.

Again, considering that he was able to find a partner for HER2, it's quite likely he has the chops to strike a deal on AXAL. I believe the timing of the insider buys could be an indication of when the negotiations entered the 'very serious' phase. Some have pointed out that these negotiations take time, so perhaps KB took the prudent step to raise some cash if a deal did not materialize. That's the only way I can explain the need dilute at these historic lows - just a few weeks after insider buys at $1.80.

All of this is pure speculation, and perhaps wishful thinking on my part, but who knows?
