If everything had gone as noone bothered to plan, there would been parades in the streets, hugs and kisses for the liberating GIs and democratic elections. The only thing these guys didn't consider was that the majority would prefer and elect a Theocratic government ala Iran.
I will tell you in all honesty Dick Cheney and his closet crew, frighten me more than anyone in Korea, Iran or Watts.
At the risk of starting a firestorm here, are Iraqis better off now than they were 6 years ago?
It occurs to me that some peoples, tribes & areas may very well be better off under totalitarian rule
