orange, caesare, raptor, dah etc...Question please...I know we have the term "compassionate use" and that CTSO can be used in that instance...I probably should ask CG from yahoo as well...

however, I think on yahoo or maybe our board, there was a video of a foreign doctor, and he explained using CTSO in a situation that was more Preventive than 'on the death bed' how it lowered the bilirubin levels drastically and therefore, the doctor said-we can use this device as 'adjunctive therapy' or something like that...

my girlfriend whom I wrote about several months ago to get everyones opinion on how to go about receiving 'compassionate use'

SHE HAS end stage liver disease, lives in suburb of Detroit, she is 52, her MS is in remission, she has fibromyalgia...doctors were prescribing morphine for her pain, the morphine coupled with heavy drinking over years fried her liver...she stopped drinking 2 years ago but scar tissue formed on the liver and that is BAD...she has cirrhosis of the liver, her MELD (model for end stage liver disease) score is 10...0 is best 40 is worst so University of Michigan wont even put her on a transplant list right now..

.my question is- are we beginning to see CTSO used not as last resort but as 'therapy' not sure of the word, is it being used to help people survive and not be a last resort, if that makes any sense...thank you for your time...also, am I wrong in thinking the FDA "could" flip a switch and based on all of the evidence from the registry and case studies determine that CTSO should be approved here in the states..or did we lose that when they failed to approve us for EAP?
