Coast Guard Commander DEMOLISHES San Juan Mayor’s Claim Against Trump

Daphne Moon Daphne Moon 15 hours ago

The commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard said Sunday that the Trump administration was “committed” to helping Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, According to The Washington Examiner.

Adm. Karl Schultz – U.S. Coast Gaurd: “I know that the [federal] efforts that I saw were very much committed to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico,” Adm. Karl Schultz told ABC’s “This Week” when asked if he agreed with President Trump that the federal efforts in Puerto Rico were successful.

This, after the Major’s recent slam on the President on Twitter. “Success? Federal response according to Trump in Puerto Rico a success?” she tweeted. “If he thinks the death of 3,000 people [is] a success God help us all.”

Her tweet came shortly after Trump touted the federal response to Hurricane Maria while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday as the East Coast braced for Hurricane Florence.

Adm. Schultz also pointed to the logistics, Truth News Feed reported:

“The response in Maria was massive,” he said. “It’s an island, which makes things challenging. The supplies that were lifted in by sea and air.”

“It’s a challenging area,” he added.

Schultz did not comment on the accuracy of a George Washington University study that estimated almost 3,000 people died as a result of the storm.

“I’m not calling any numbers into doubt, what I’m saying is that, as our team was part of it, we were very much supported and empowered to get down there and try to be helpful,” Schultz said.

After overcoming the sheer level of difficulties the Administration face getting supplies to the Island what part did their local government play in distributing those supplies to the families who desperately needed them?

As we previously reported at the beginning of August, shipping containers full of supplies were reported left out to the rats. A shotty attempt to conceal those supplies doesn’t exactly build faith in the San Juan Major’s claim.

Then, just recently, a reporter who spent extensive time covering the hurricane that ravished Puerto Rico uncovered a runway full of water sent during last year’s disaster. Experts say that water, just like the shipping containers full of supplies, is now unfit for use.
