nlightn, Conspiracy Theorists bring up the fact that the towers were the first steel high rises to fall from fire in history. The fact is the towers had other firsts that day they never seem to include.

"Physicists Say Twin Towers Destroyed by Controlled Demolition on 9/11"

There were a lot of firsts for the WTC. In all the history of high-rise fires, not one has ever been hit with a plane traveling 500 miles an hour and had its fire proofing removed from its trusses. In all the history of high-rise fires, not one has ever had its steel columns which hold lateral load sheared off by a 767. In all the history of high-rise fires, not one has ever been a building which had its vertical load bearing columns in its core removed by an airliner. For Building 7, in all the history of high-rise fires, not one has ever been left for 6-7 hours with its bottom floors on fire with structural damage from another building collapse. Not the Madrid/Windsor tower did not have almost 40 stories of load on its supports after being hit by another building which left a 20 story gash. The Madrid tower lost portions of its steel frame from the fire. Windsor's central core was steel reinforced concrete. In all the history of high-rise fires, not one has ever been without some fire fighters fighting the fires.

I could go on with the "Firsts" but you get the drift. The statement that the WTC buildings were the first high-rise buildings to collapse from fire is deceptive because it purposely doesn't take those factors into account.

Also unless i missed it, though your post does not appear to have the misattribution problem first addressed below, the stuff in the article has been thoroughly debunked before.

Did a European Scientific Journal Conclude 9/11 Was a Controlled Demolition?

Viral news stories misattributed an article written by "9/11 Truth" advocates as one published in the European Scientific Journal; it was actually published in Europhysics News, which is not peer-reviewed.

Issues of false attribution aside, the article was written by four authors who have aggressively promoted 9/11 conspiracy theories and who are members of groups such as Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth and Scholars for 911 Truth. The paper primarily targets the official conclusion of the NIST Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster, which argued that fire adequately explained the collapse of all three WTC buildings. The Europhysics Newsarticle relied heavily on discredited claims, none of which were new, including:

* Jet fuel cannot melt steel beams (This claim is misleading .. http://www.popularmechanics.com/military/a6384/debunking-911-myths-world-trade-center , as steel beams do to not need to melt completely to be compromised structurally).

* A sprinkler system would have prevented temperatures from rising high enough to cause to cause structural damage. (This claim ignores the fact that a crash from a 767 jet would likely destroy .. https://www.nist.gov/el/faqs-nist-wtc-towers-investigation .. such a system.)

* The structural system would have been protected by fireproofing material (similarly .. https://www.nist.gov/el/faqs-nist-wtc-towers-investigation , such a system would have been damaged in a 767 crash).

* Puffs of smoke exploding from below the collapsing towers suggests controlled demolition. (This claim does little to address the simpler explanation .. https://www.nist.gov/el/faqs-nist-wtc-towers-investigation .. that air pressure from the collapse of one of the largest buildings ever built would have forced air and debris through windows).

* The buildings fell at a rate possible only by a controlled demolition. (Numerous engineers .. https://www.nist.gov/el/faqs-nist-wtc-towers-investigation .. and scientists have argued that the rate at which the buildings fell is consistent with the manner in which the towers failed, and that the exact time of total collapse is hard to pin down reliably in the first place.)

Finally i'll point out that the topic has been more than aptly covered on Tornado Alley in the past (as say Clinton
conspiracy theories) therefor clearly is open to valid deletion. There is nothing new in the article you posted.

I'll leave that one this one time, but no more, please.
