EXCITING PHYTO-NUTRIENT EXTRACTION AND DISTILLATION ONGOING!!!
Colorado Hemp Solutions utilizes a dynamic team of botanical extraction professionals to bring Phyto-Cannabinoids to the consumer.
Our CO2 extraction partner is Western Colorado Hemp Extractors, Judith and Brian Olesen who have a jumbo, state of the art Vitalis Super Critical machine. With this machine they have the ability to make sub critical runs which isolates and preserves all of the terpenoids that are otherwise destroyed in the extraction phase. Couple this machine and process with the proper genetic and we have the ability to produce massive amounts of terpenes to the marketplace with next year’s harvest!!! Western Colorado Hemp Extractors is also ramping up all of their post extraction distillation processes, so be on the lookout for some CO2 derived distillate and isolate available soon.
Our ethanol based partner is Dustin Jensen who runs Speedy Extraction. This groundbreaking team employs a multitude of spirit based extraction including 2 of the largest Sprayvap machines in existence and an array of roto-vaps, short paths, chillers, filters, etc. Their post extraction processes are second to none including their expertise in Flash Chromotography, a purification and distillation process that we can use to remove all of the THC from our distillates – while leaving all of the surviving phytonutrients in the finished product. This technology also allows us to play with isolation of all the cannabinoids that are currently underutilized or impossible to isolate; namely CBC. With our genetics we have pheno-hunted and began development on strains with CBC content of 3-5% in the flower, so if we can get this isolated next season through Chromotography we will be able to bring a new tool to medicine in large enough quantities to truly make a difference.
As you can see we have the partnerships and relationships to make any kind of hemp derived phytonutrient rich distillate, crude, or isolate that you may need for your products. We are here to champion the hemp plant, let us be your source for the phytonutrients in your end products!
Thanks For Everything!
-Wacey Clarke

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Western Colorado is currently known for its Palisade peaches and wine country, but some farmers and cannabidiol (CBD) extractors are trying to make hemp the areas new cash crop.

At the start of 2018 a CBD extraction facility called Speedy Grow Inc. opened in Grand Junction, with a goal of partnering with local farmers who are growing hemp.

"Their only option was to go to Denver, ship their product 4 or 5 hours, and get in line behind marijuana growers and that was very costly," said David Schenk, co-owner of Speedy Grow Inc.

Now with the opening of Speedy Grow Inc., the entire process of turning hemp into a product can remain on the Western Slope.

One local farmer who will utilize the new extraction facility is Wacey Clarke, who owns Colorado Hemp Solutions.

"We were having to go in to the San Luis valley but after meeting Speedy and the group there we've utilized them," said Clarke.

This is the second year in a row Clarke is growing hemp, and once his harvest is ready he'll take it to Speedy Grow Inc., where CBD will be extracted from it.

It will later be sold raw or turned into products like soft gels or tinctures to be used for its health benefits.

This is a partnership Schenk said begins even before the hemp is ready to be harvested, during planting season, by providing farmers with their product Speedy Veg, an organic growth supplement. "We're giving them the resources so that they can grow a higher quality product and get a higher price."

Those with Speedy Grow also said they don't charge farmers for the entire process of the extraction, but instead will do a CBD extraction split.

"Bring your crop in we'll process it no cost to the farmer and we'll all share the revenue on the back end," said Speedy Grow Inc. co-owner Dustin Jensen.

Schenk said "It's a very synergistic relationship we have with these farmers and it's a high energy level because everyone knows we're kind of breaking new ground."

Breaking ground not only physically on Western Slope farms, but in a literal sense as well since the industry is still being developed.

Even being so new to the industry, Schenk said he believes the process of cultivating and extracting hemp could provide an economic boom for the Grand Valley. "We believe this valley can be known for the highest quality CBD anywhere in the nation. That people seek out the flower that's grown here."

This is a hope that is shared by Clarke."We don't have dreams of having 2/3,000 acres of hemp, we do have dreams of making sure that much is being produced by farmers in this area, and then working with smart people to make that noticed in the world to where this part of the world is a major producer and part of the supply chain for cannabinoids worldwide."

Green Pioneers: Industrious Utahns Get In On The Green Rush With New Cannabis Laws

‘The Utah Legislature passed a law this year letting residents grow hemp and sell byproducts from the plant. Now some eager Utahns are lining up to take advantage of the budding industry.
David Schenk lives in northern Utah, but drives five hours to Grand Junction, Colorado every week to run his 5000 square foot hemp oil factory called Speedy Grow Inc. ‘

‘Schenk is already lining up farmers in Utah who want to grow hemp. But for right now, he gets his hemp down the road from Colorado farmers like Wacey Clarke.’

‘Clarke comes from a long line of Colorado farmers. But he’s the first to grow hemp, which he’ll plant across 110 acres this spring.’

Violet Gro to Partner with Local Grow Collaborative

Colorado growers to test the benefits of UV light for indoor growing
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo., June 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Violet Gro, an agricultural LED lighting company announced the start of a local research consortium to evaluate and further the development of solutions that will incorporate the benefits of ultraviolet light into indoor growing of hemp.  The consortium will include Violet Gro, Colorado Hemp Solutions, Salt Creek Hemp Company, and Speedy Grow.
“As part of our commitment to hemp, based on the impact we know it can have on people’s lives, we want to be a part of collaborations like this one that are working to advance the industry.  We truly believe that this part of Colorado can become a major part of the supply chain for cannabinoids worldwide,” said Wacey Clarke, Owner of Colorado Hemp Solutions.
“Violet Gro is an exciting company that combines innovation and technology with manufacturing and agriculture and we’re looking forward to seeing the hemp industry grow in western Colorado. This type of collaboration is unique and a great example of the collaborative spirit that exists here in Grand Junction” said Robin Brown, Executive Director of the Grand Junction Economic Partnership.
The initial focus of this collaboration will be to evaluate best practices for incorporating UV-A and/or UV-B light into the indoor grow process to provide enhanced benefits to the plants and to protect the plants from infections and pests.
“Violet Gro’s patented technology enables our light bars to incorporate UV light without the risk of lens degradation and LED destruction that occurs with other lighting on the market.  This consortium will allow us to further explore the impact that UV can have for growers as well as the optimal ways to deploy it during the grow process,” said Terrance Berland, CEO of Violet Defense Group, the parent company of Violet Gro.
Numerous studies have shown that the right UV spectrums can drive increases in the plant production of active substances in medicinal plants, including antioxidant benefits of numerous plants, as well as cannabinoids.  Speedy Grow, a new hemp extraction specialist will help assess the impact that the UV light has on the various cannabinoid levels in the plants produced.
“Our commitment as a local company is to work very collaboratively with strategic partners, as we believe this valley can be known for the highest quality CBD anywhere in the nation.  We are excited about the potential for UV integration into the growing process and the opportunity to produce higher quality and healthier crops,” said Dustin Jensen, co-owner of Speedy Grow.
In addition to the ability to enhance the medicinal benefits of plants, UV light can also help maintain a healthy growing environment by reducing mold, mildew, and certain plant pests – all of which need alternatives to chemicals due to increasing fungicidal resistance.
Powdery mildew has been shown to be a significant threat to indoor growers, causing widespread disease to crops, ranging from strawberries and tomatoes to hemp.  This is also true of spider mites that can expand rapidly throughout a crop, significantly reducing yields or even destroying entire harvests.
“We are excited to be a part of this research to evaluate UV as a way to not only further improve the quality of our product, but also address some of our biggest challenges, including spider mites which are a huge threat to our crops,” said Margaret MacKenzie with Salt Creek Hemp Co.
To learn more about this new collaboration, join us at the 3rd Annual Hemp on the Slope, July 21, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Salt Creek Ranch – Collbran Colorado.  The event is hosted by Salt Creek Hemp Company and Violet Gro is serving as the Farm-to-Table Dinner Sponsor for the event.
