I strongly suspect that the CRO withheld interims back in Oct last year due to arguments with IPIX on site delays and costs. The company then decided to forgo interims, made some payments to keep the trial going to completion, and then got a bill that was far above estimates and cash available. What is puzzling is that June 28 we announce a funding deal with Sep 30 deadline, June 29 we announce data lock, and then we announce we still owe money and haven't gotten the data. Was there an additional surprise bill? Messy.
