While a better delivery system is obviously of great interest, in fact THERE IS an obvious delivery system availble NOW! It's called a syringe! That makes PLX-R18 useful immediately. What is required is proof of efficacy (in the works now) and any improvements in delivery will be of interest in the future.
Auto's conclusion that "the reason there is NO contract with the DOD." is lack of a "super syringe" is nonsense. The applicability of R18 in a multitude of non-battlefield situations where medical personnel is available includes accidental spillage of radioactivity, reactor disasters, terror attacks and more. AND, battlefield use doesn't REQUIRE anything other than doing it the old fashioned way.
The notion that they will hold up approval or DOD contract while waiting for the fancy syringe is nonsense. Efficacy and availability of "super syringe" are independent variables.
