NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Nick Foles will be the Eagles' starting quarterback for Thursday's opener against the Falcons.
Reports had begun to surface that Carson Wentz would be ready, but he's simply not far enough along in his rehab. Foles has yet to be cleared for contract. The situation appears to be genuinely week to week. Foles had a concerningly bad preseason, though the Eagles rarely had their entire first-team offense on the field at the same time. Missing Alshon Jeffery, Foles will be a mid-range QB2 in what could be a high-scoring contest.
