Please remember to write your Senators and Representative in support of the Hemp provisions in the Farm Bill. I'm lucky my Kansas Senator Roberts is Chairman of the Agricultural Committee and my Rep. is on a relevant committee as well, but no matter who your congressmen are, please email them. It makes a real difference. Here's my letter, though be sure to write your own.

Dear Senator Roberts:

It is extremely important to me that the upcoming Farm Bill include full Hemp legalization and full CBD descheduling by the DEA.

Hemp would be an incredible boon to our farmers (of which my father is one) in the midst of a lot of negative economic reprecussions from Trump's Trade War.

It also is a far more environmentally friendly alternative to cotton, especially important to Kansas farmers with perrenial water troubles and frustrated with herbicicide and pesticide overuse and drift. (Hemp reduces use of all three.)

Finally, CBD has been shown to be very healthy with numerous health benefits. It has no intoxicating effects and is absurdly mischeduled just because it comes from marijuana and hemp both, ignoring that hemp has no THC. CBD should be completely descheduled as a drug by the farm bill and placed alongside caffeine.

For these three reasons, hemp/CBD should be fully legalized and unrestricted by the Farm Bill to create the greatest possible market for hemp cultivation for American farmers. In a Republican world filled with gloomy news for farmer supporters, this would be a welcome bit of news that costs ZERO in Federal funding to accomplish and actually saves the government money by ceasing enforcement of really bad laws. Removing these sorts of nonesense nanny-state laws from the books is precisely what Trump campaigned on.

Thank you for your consideration!
