MIAMI, Aug. 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Progressive Care Inc. (OTCQB: RXMD), a personalized healthcare services and technology company, today announced that Chief Executive Officer S. Parikh Mars has earned international media coverage for the company in top industry publications including MD+DI, Pharmacy Business, and Medical Design Technology around its healthcare technology services and expertise.

"It is an honor to have Progressive Care featured in these leading industry publications. We believe that this type of exposure can help to continue expanding our network of patients, physicians and providers," Mars said. "It is exciting to see more people begin to recognize and turn to us as a resource, especially within the media industry. We hope that this attention will bring even more awareness and understanding to the services offered by Progressive Care."

In a contributed article titled, "Using Digital Technology to Improve Your Pharmacy," published August 23, 2018, in Pharmacy Business, Mars shares best practices for community pharmacists when using digital technology to create a more personalized healthcare experience tailored to each individual patient. In the article, Mars urges readers: "To take advantage of their distinctive role in the healthcare ecosystem, community pharmacies must develop and promote the use of digital technologies like social media, interactive websites/ mobile apps, electronic health records (EHR) and even more innovative solutions to empower the patient and achieve results."

Progressive Care was also covered in top medical industry publications around the rising trend of "selfie medicine." An Aug. 15, 2018 article in MD+DI features Mars' take on the new trend, stating: "If the selfie medicine trend were to extend into medication monitoring for more common and chronic conditions, such as hypertension, however, Mars isn't convinced that it will become anything more than a fad." Medical Design Technology also shared Mars' thoughts on "selfie medicine" in an article titled "Designing a Selfie Medicine App to Stick" published Aug. 27, 2018, citing suggestions on what must work for this to become more than a fad.

Progressive Care continues to expand its healthcare technological footprint, further positioning itself as a telepharmacy industry leader. In May 2018, the company began developing its own proprietary telepharmacy software for the expansion of its current kiosk program throughout the state of Florida. The company also added to its growing fleet of robotic pharmacy equipment with the installation of a TCGRx Automated Pouch Packaging System at its Miami-Dade County location.

The recent media coverage comes after the company's efforts to provide its network with more healthcare informational resources through its wholly owned subsidiary PharmCo, LLC. Additional commentary from Progressive Care's CEO about the company and industry as a whole can be found on the Progressive Care blog and PharmCo blog.
