It's the "every man for himself" mentality.

Who cares, just keep checking Finra. Usually if theres going to be a split you have a few days to sell before it gets executed. So in the meantime you can sell to those who aren't aware of the split yet.

You can lead a horse to water. But you can't make him get down on one knee and do an Al Jolson impression!
