His response was to me on Twitter so I will chime in on this.

I like the fact that he wants to be absolutely certain of a deal that is done before he releases the news. He doesn't want to make the same mistake that he did before, as he himself said in a Tweet.

It sounds to me from his tweet that he will release both pieces of news together. I could also be wrong on this.
