Which is worse, revision surgery or brain damage? I tend to think brain damage.

You are correct CoC does seem like the best solution at this time based on current known evidence. Although Si3n4 oxygen scavaging ability could reduce poly wear at 12m cycles to surpass the wear characteristics of CoC. Really need to see those results.
