It’s possible they realized that they may have crossed a line that partly thanks to social media is visible. All though not serious enough on its face for jail time there could potentially be punitive fines or officers who are asked to step down if a line was indeed crossed - I’m not saying it was but appears so at this time. If there are more nefarious actions deeper down it understandable that they wouldn’t like anyone peaking around. Bottom line is we will hold them accountable if this stuff continues without following through on what they said they would do and focus on shareholder value versus shareholder destruction.
