gfp, with global debt at or above $247 trillion, I don't see how there can be a smooth transition to another scenario. All that money is owed to governments, banks, other financial entities, and individuals. Those debts can't simply be forgiven or many of the lenders would have to fold. Wasn't that the case with Lehman Brothers? Most of these lenders are in over their heads. It looks like a global financial collapse is most likely. Maybe there will be a transition to the SDR system, but it seems to me that it will be born out of chaos.
I'm just speculating, too, but as you said, it could be a messy transition to SDR's.
