BlackRidge Technology Shares New Insights on a Resilient Approach for Securing Critical Infrastructure and IIoT
August 15, 2018
Michael Murray of BlackRidge Leads an All-Star Panel to Discuss a New Cyber Defense Approach to Nation State Level Attacks
RENO, NV – August 15, 2018 – BlackRidge Technology International, Inc. (OTCQB: BRTI), a leading provider of next generation cyber defense solutions, announced today that Michael Murray, SVP and GM of BlackRidge Cyber Physical Systems, will host a webinar panel-discussion titled A New and Resilient Approach to Securing Critical infrastructure and IIoT on Thursday, August 16, 2018. To register for the event, please click here.

The panel participants include senior leaders in IIoT and cyber defense, including Bob Lentz, former Department of Defense CISO and current CEO of Cyber Security strategies, Josh Corman, SVP and Chief Security Officer at PTC, a leading provider of industrial IoT platforms, and Chris Rezendes, Chief Business Officer at Context Labs, a premier data management and analytics provider.

Bringing together top leaders from Government, Cloud and IT/OT companies, the panel will explore the current Government perspective on securing critical infrastructure, the unique steps companies are taking to prepare industry to secure critical infrastructure from evolving threats, and the critical role that analytics and data providence plays in addressing insider threats.

Securing critical infrastructure and IIoT requires an integrated, holistic approach to protect against hostile nation states and individual actors that pose serious cybersecurity threats to critical Water, Energy and Transportation Grids, attempting access through the industrial internet. "If bad actors breach the industrial control systems that operate a grid, they can cause significant economic, societal, and personal welfare damage on a very large scale," said Murray.

"The key to protecting industrial control systems is to secure access from unidentified and unauthorized traffic, create a closed loop system that controls the operation of the grid while maintaining the interoperability of the industrial controls that IIoT provides," said Lentz. "This is where identity and authentication play the key role to block zero-day attacks."

Murray is responsible for BlackRidge Technology's Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) ecosystem business. Murray, a former General Manager Industrial Sensing Division at Analog Devices and co-founder of Araflex, recently joined BlackRidge after leading the strategy and development of TDK's Industrial Motion Business.
