Steve West won the Republican nomination for the Missouri House of Representatives to represent District 15 running on an anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim platform.

West ran against openly Republican Jewish candidate J. Ranen Bechthold is a veteran from the war in Afghanistan and two other Republican candidates, Timothy Harris and Simon Abela who both refused to condemn Jews.

In November West faces Democrat Jon Carpenter who told a reporter from the "Kansas City Star",

I never expected Steve West to win because he was known to be the most extreme of the four Republican candidates.

He’s run very publicly as a proud bigot and was going door-to-door saying all kinds of things,” including, according to one constituent, that all female coaches and most girls who play basketball are lesbians.

West, who lives four doors down from me, knocked on my door, too and shockingly talked to my wife about the problem with Jews and Islam.
